Chocolate Sourdough Bread!!!

OK, for real though, i am so happy with this loaf! I saw a chocolate SD loaf on my social media feed and thought, 1) I NEED THIS. And 2) I hate following recipes so I am just gonna make it up!

And it turned out AMAZING!!!


So here it is, My chocolate Sourdough Bread Recipe!



 


-Chocolate Sourdough Bread-


INGREDIENTS

INSTRUCTIONS

​350g water 50g starter 100g honey 500g flour 30g cocoa powder 60g butter 10g salt chocolate chips(if desired)

​Mix water, starter and honey together. Add flour and cocoa powder. Mix till ball forms then turn out on table and kneed till dough is consistent. Add butter and kneed till combined. Add salt and kneed till you can't feel the salt anymore. Add chocolate chips. Let rest 30 minutes in covered bowl then pull up sides of dough and fold over center on all 4 sides. Repeat folding technique every 30-60min till happy with aeration. Let bulk rise 12-14hrs or until almost doubled in size. Shape loaf on table and place in proofing basket for another couple hrs. Preheat oven and Dutch oven to 450 degrees. Once oven is preheated, turn dough over onto parchment paper and score. Place in preheated Dutch oven with lid on. Bake 20min. Remove lid and bake another 20-25min. Remove from Dutch oven and allow to cool to room temp. ENJOY!
